Course aims
The aim of the course is to introduce ideas, terminilogy and methods in the field of literary analysis and to practice their use by analysing certain texts.
Brief description of the course
The course is a seminar where different methods to analyse the poetics of literary texts and films are discussed and practiced. Content of the course may vary concentrating on genre, narrative or literary space. Theoretical part of the course is mainly based on the works of J.J. van Baak, Mikhail Bakhtin, Mike Bal, Dorrit Cohn, Gérard Genette and Juri Lotman. The course is read in English.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
