Course aims

Overwiew to terminology of Estonian ortography and develops ability to use correct literary language

Brief description of the course

Alphabet, spelling system. Terminology and system of Estonian ortography. Spelling: Estonian spelling, spelling of foreign words and names, derivates, shortenings. When to use capital letters. Spelling compound words, numbers and dates. Interpunction. Lectures and practical excercises.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
Student is familiar with terminology of Estonian ortography as well as ortography rules and uses correct literary language.
