Course aims
An overview of different design principles. Skills to design and layout of a variety of texts.
Brief description of the course
Different types of design publications (book, magazine, newspaper, brochure, poster presentations, subtitles). Design tools and elements: typography, printing letters, outlines and highlights, titles and names, illustrations, use of color. Page design. Principles of layout. Classification of newspapers, layout and editorial requirements. Practical exercises. Subtitles
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
Student is able to design diferent simple texts, understand technical details. Knows main terms and principles of typography, understands main problems of design. Knows main web-tools and is able to use them in beginners level.
