Brief description of the course
This conversation course is intended for learners who have mastered the basics of Finnish (speakers at B and C levels).
The course covers a variety of topics, including culture, working life and current affairs. Students gain confidence in expressing themselves in Finnish, learn new words and expressions, and become familiar with colloquial Finnish. The course includes various conversation and situational exercises, as well as listening exercises on different topics. During the course, we discuss various topics based on preparation completed at home and explore different expressions, new vocabulary and language structures.

Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- is able to use Finnish both orally and in writing;
- has acquired a broad vocabulary, has a good command of language structures and expressions, and is able to apply what they have learned in practice;
- has learned the basics of different varieties of spoken Finnish (slang and dialects) and understands them;
- has a good command of the most common text types and forms of discourse needed in everyday and professional communication situations (e.g. emails, telephone conversations, social media).
