Course aims
Develop reading and writing skills, increase vocabulary, improve oral and written proficiency, and improve grammar. To create preconditions for the acquisition of linguistic competence in oral and written Finnish language on CEFR proficiency level C1.1
Brief description of the course
To develop the linguistic proficiency of the learner to a level that enables to understand complex texts and to present detailed presentations and positions, and to prepare for the acquisition of linguistic competences at level C1.1 as set out in the European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- communicates fluently and spontaneously in Finnish;
- writes grammatically correct Finnish text using a wide range of vocabulary and literary constructions;
- understands and analyzes voluminous and complex texts;
- understands and is able to translate authentic oral texts (eg dialogues, radio broadcasts, TV news, etc.).
