Course aims
Give an overview of the history and current political, economical and technological development of Finnish society and cultural history,; develop understanding the basic social and political processes in Finnish society
Brief description of the course
An overview of the main events in the history of Finnish society with special focus on autonomy and indenpendecy of Finland and Finnish society before and after the Second World War; an overview of Finnish traditions, old and new minorities, current political, economical and technological trends of Finnish society; introducing of Finnish institutions in Estonia (Embassy of Finland, Finnish Institute in Estonia, Finnish School of Tallinn et cetera).
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- has knowledge on hisorical and current development of Finnish society
