Course aims
To facilitate understanding of sociolinguistic situation of the Baltic countries in a comparative perspective.
Brief description of the course
A short overview of Baltic sociolinguistic situation in the past and at present. The course is taught in the form of lectures and seminars.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
Knowledge of sociolinguistic situation in the Baltic countries, ability to see similarities and difference in cultural history, language ideologies, understanding of current language policy.
