Course aims
The course gives a systemized and comaparative overview on Latvian and Lithuanian literature.
Brief description of the course
The first manuscripts, chronicles and written literature in Lituania and Latvia from the 13th till 18th century. Enlightement and Romanticism in the 18th – 19th century, Literature of the National Movement in the 19th century; Modernism at the beginning of the 20th century. Soviet literature in Latvia and Lithuania; Latvian and Lithuanian émigré and resistance literature. Latvian and Lithuanian literature in the 21st century. Upon completing the course the student:
