Course aims

Overview of the history and development of the Estonian literary language.

Brief description of the course

Knowledge of basic comprehension and development tendencies of Estonian written language;
Skill to analyse stylistics and general linguistic elements of written Estonian texts of different periods.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
The student has acquired the basic knowledge of the stages of development of written Estonian.
