Course aims
Õppeaine annab teadmisi lapse keele ja kõne arendamisest eelkoolieas, selle õpetamise printsiipidest, metoodikast ja integreerimisvõimalustest lapse teiste tegevustega.
Brief description of the course
The concepts language and speech. The importance of the mother tongue. Prerequisites for the acquisition of language. Development of vocabulary. Sounds and grammar of language. Coherent speech. Listening and talking. Language ability and understanding strategies. Developing readiness for reading and writing. Speech and communication. Speech and play. Instructional play. Conversation, discussion. Retelling. Stage productions. A child and books. Concept of childrens literature and relevant development phases. Cultural-historical and educational-scientific background of childrens literature. Fairy-tale, artificial fairytales. Childrens poetry. Pictures in childrens books. Selection principles for childrens books. Childrens books as the developer of the childs speech and language.
