Course aims
Understanding emerging topics and staying informed about cutting-edge developments is crucial for future researchers. As such, this course explores the dynamic landscape of research trends across the various disciplines comprising the fabric of Information Society Technologies, addressing theoretical approaches, methodological and technological advances.
Through a combination of lectures, discussions, and practical exercises, doctoral students will gain the skills to identify, analyse, and leverage research trends effectively.
Students should be enabled to include elements of the presented topics into their own research.
Brief description of the course
The course introduces several recent research topics in Information Society Technologies, including recent theories, methods and technologies.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- recognizes and evaluates emerging research trends;
- applies trend analysis techniques to specifric fields of study;
- synthesizes information from diverse sources to inform decision-making;
- engages in critical discussions about the impact of trends on current and future research and practice.
