Course aims
The objective of the course is to enable students to use appropriate tools and methods for UX evaluation of VR environments.
Brief description of the course
This course is about tools and methods of UX evaluation. The course is practical and problem-based. The specifics of the problem involves collecting feedback about interactive VR systems' UX.
Topics of the course:
1. basics of UX evaluation (virtual);
2. observing users behaviour (physical, workshop);
3. observing users attention (physical, workshop);
4. observing users feelings (physical, workshop);
5. self reported metrics (physical, workshop);
6. results presentation (virtual).
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- selects appropriate tools and methods for user experience evaluation;
- uses video recording, eye tracking, facial expression analysis and user statements to evaluate user experience;
- recognizes important indicators of behavior, attention and emotionality when using VR systems and makes informed design decisions based on them.
