Course aims
To become familiar with the organisation’s operations, work culture, and work methods, and to apply and further develop the knowledge and skills acquired during
studies in a practical work environment. To develop independent working and self-analysis skills, as well as social competence, including communication, responsibility,
and teamwork skills.
Brief description of the course
Professional placement is carried out either in a public or private organisation in accordance with the study programme’s professional placement guidelines and the
approved professional placement plan. The professional placement comprises 156 hours, including the completion of an professional placement diary and the preparation of the report. During the professional placement, the student performs tasks assigned by the supervisor at the placement organisation. The experience is discussed at the final seminar.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- observes and analyses the functioning of an organisation, relating it to their field-specific knowledge and learning objectives;
- applies their knowledge and skills in performing work tasks; learns to recognise and use new solutions, including through digital tools;
- critically analyses their work processes, outcomes, and development needs, and plans further learning and career steps accordingly;
- collaborates effectively in a team, fulfils agreed roles, and takes responsibility for achieving shared goals, adhering to the principles of professional communication and ethics;
- acts responsibly and sustainably in the practice environment, valuing their own health and well being, as well as the interests of the organisation and the community.
