Course aims
The course is part of the curriculum, Sound Design. Minor (15 credits). To provide students with knowledge of the compositional foundations of sound and about compiling sound schemes.
Brief description of the course
The functions of sound, aesthetic factors. Methods for creating emotional energy. Sound as a background, a figure and a communicator of information. Sources of sound for creating mood. Music as a provoker of emotions. The basics of sound composition. Compiling sound schemes and selecting sound backgrounds. Practical work.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
Loengutes esitatav teoreetiline materjal näitlikustatakse audiovisuaalse materjaliga. Toimub analüüs. Iseseisva tööna toimub helitaustade modelleerimine, heliskeemi koostamine. Praktilistes tundides toimub iseseisva töö demonstreerimine ja analüüs.
