Course aims
The course is part of the curriculum Sound Design. Minor (15 credits). To introduce students to the techniques of making audio CDs.
Brief description of the course
Effect-processors (reverb, delay, chorus, phaser, distortion). Dynamic processors (compressor, gate, limiter). Equalising (equalisers, harmonic generators). Processors for changing pitch and length (pitchshift, timestretch). Sound positioning (stereo, DOLBY Surround, DTS).Synchronisation of audio and video. Mixdown. Spectral analysis. Mastering. DATs, minidiscs, and audio CDs. Techniques of making audio CDs.
