Course aims

To form understanding of the main questions of History (and Social Studies’) didactics and competency in organizing learning procedures in primary and secondary school.

Brief description of the course

Overview of legislations on learning procedure (National Curriculum of Primary and Secondary School, a list of textbooks and workbooks in accordance with NC, Regulation of Assessment, Organizing the National Examination for Primary and Secondary School: Regulation No 75, Foreign Assessment of Scholastic Results: Regulation No 18). Introduction to the main part of NC and Curriculum of History and Social Studies. The purpose is to analyse the curriculum of history and social studies on the basis of purposes, contents, learning process and results and bring out the possibilities of how to fulfil the subjects named through general purposes of the curriculum, frame the described capacities by school levels. Introduction to the conception of teaching History, different teaching methods, framing skills, framing scholar results, drawing up teacher’s work plan.
