Since 2023 admission, only the applicants who have completed Bachelor´ curriculum in speciality other than Social work are admitted in condition that they have completed the prerequisite compulsory courses (min 25 ECTS from TLU Social work BA programme) before their applying. A list of compulsory courses for each academic year is available on TLU homepage. The courses can be passed via TLU Open Academy (fee required) or via recognition of prior learning process based on the regulatory process of TLU.
Passing the admission examination (interview). The minimum level of proficiency of the Estonian language at B2 level according to the Common Framework of Reference for Languages. The minimum level of proficiency of the English language at B1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Students who have not graduated from upper secondary schools where Estonian is the language of instruction, or who have graduated from schools where Estonian is only partly the language of instruction, are required to have Estonian language proficiency at C1 level.
Since the admission of year 2016 students are required to pass during the studies at least one course which uses a foreign language as the language of instruction
