- possesses the knowledge and skills for the psychotherapeutic, functional, palliative, recreational, and diagnostic application of arts therapies across diverse target groups, and holds in-depth knowledge in a specific area of specialization within arts therapies;
- development of skills for conducting research, as well as the ability to write and critically evaluate scientific texts;
- understanding creative arts therapies within a broader healthcare and social context;
- development of the capacity to identify and define one's own needs for ongoing professional development.

- - has the knowledge and skills for the psychotherapeutic, functional, palliative, recreational, and diagnostic application of the arts for various target groups, alongside in-depth knowledge in a specific field of creative arts therapy specialization;
- - is capable of planning and critically analyzing therapeutic activities and evaluating their outcomes;
- - is aware of the ethical aspects of their professional practice and is able to base their work planning on evidence-based professional practice;
- - possesses knowledge of the healthcare system’s organization and has practical work experience as a member of a multidisciplinary team within healthcare, rehabilitation, social welfare, and/or educational institutions;
- - is proficient in conducting research and is able to critically evaluate professional research publications;
- - is able to identify individual needs for personal development and professional growth required to continue studies at the doctoral level;

Students who have not graduated from a school with Estonian as the language of instruction, or who have only partially completed their studies in Estonian, are required to achieve Estonian language proficiency at C1 level. For students admitted from 2016 onwards, at least one subject-specific English language course must be completed during their studies.
