Course aims
To acquire the main knowledge and skills on project creation, management, financing and implementation.
Brief description of the course
The student will learn how to use basic management and financing skills while creating projects. The funding principles of major European co-operation programmes will be acknowledged. Communication, finance management, report writing will be implemented in practice.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:

- is familiar with EU policies and their implementation possibilities;
- is familiar with EU and other international cooperation programs;
- is familiar with the documents and guidance materials of the EU funding programs, which are the basis for the implementation of the EU structural funds;
- knows the methodology of the project cycle, different phases and elements;
knows the methodology of project management and logical matrix, project work procedures and requirements set by the EU and the Republic of Estonia;
- knows the vocabulary related to project work and the basics of project evaluation and auditing;
- is able to identify and analyze sectoral and regional problems and set strategic goals at both program and project level;
- is able to find suitable funding programs and project partners for the project;
- is able to carry out strategic project planning and compile a logical matrix;
- is able to plan activities supporting the implementation of the project, plan indicators of achievement of activities and control measures;
- is able to prepare project funding applications according to the different templates.
