Course aims
To provide sufficient knowledge and skills according to Intermediate Chinese 1 level.
Brief description of the course
Intermediate Chinese is designed to help students to understand language materials within different contexts. The study of this course provides students with the knowledge and skills to produce more correct sentences on familiar topics in description, explanation or comparison, to compose simple passages or connect basic passages,etc.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
Understand discourses delivered in proper pronunciation,intonation and stress patterns.
Know conventions of character construction.
Master 300 new Chinese characters toward proficiency in the four skill areas.
Master about 1000 Chinese words.
Know and master adverbs of time,particle "过(guo)" and complements of time and action.
Write short texts and essays on familiar topics.
