Course aims

Create connections between different social science fields and methods, through reading and discussions. Introduce social science research methodology.

Brief description of the course

Course is a seminar where meetings are designed to discuss different readings and social science methods. Students are expected to find, read and discuss readings. Students write papers based on their readings and as the topics covered are interdisciplinary, the problems discussed are also looked into via several different disciplines.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- can find materials and understand them;
- can approach problems from at least two social science angles;
- can write papers;
- discusses and gives feedback to others’ work.
