Course aims
Support the understanding about the principles of health behaviour and the most important models of health behaviour. To design skills to analyze the principles of health behaviour models and their applicability in describing behaviour.
Brief description of the course
Attribution Theory, Personality Model (e.g. disease-prone personality, Type A, Type D), Health Belief Model, Health Locus of Control Theory, Self-Efficacy Theory,
Biopsychosocial model, Theory of Reasoned Action and Theory of Planned Behaviour,
(also Interpersonal Behaviour), Goal-Directed-Behaviour, Unrealistic Optimism Theory,
Transtheoretical- Stages of Change- Model, Protection Motivation Theory, The Health Action Process Approach, Theory of Social Learning, Self-regulation Theory.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- knows the most important models and theories of health behaviour;
- can analyze models and theories of health behaviour.
