Course aims
The aim of the course is to deepen students’ knowledge of the principles of performance and sport psychology, particularly in the development of psychological skills, and to develop their ability to apply these skills in practice across different performance situations.
Brief description of the course
During contact learning, the focus is on developing psychological skills such as goal setting, supporting motivation, improving concentration, managing emotions, increasing self-confidence, and performance regulation. In seminars, various techniques for developing these skills are introduced, students design skill development plans, and they also attempt to implement them. During the independent learning period, students apply the acquired knowledge and skills in their work or practical situations, analyzing the experiences and results throughout the practicum.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- Knows the basic principles of performance and sport psychology related to psychological skill development
- Knows the main techniques for developing psychological skills and understands the possibilities and limitations of their application
- Is able to design a psychological skills development plan
- Has gained experience in developing psychological skills
