Course aims
Understand holistic athletic career conceptually (incl. different developmental stages) and factors supporting or hindering its development and implications of applied sport psychology on different levels (incl. organizational, significant others around athletes, personal level)
Brief description of the course
During the course, an overview is provided about developmental stages of holistic athletic career, their characteristics and ways to support athletic career development during different stages.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- can describe different developmental stages and characterize them;
- understand personal and environmental factors that play a role in supporting or hindering athletic career;
- can analyze possible challenges regarding developing holistic athletic career based on case study examples;
- can point out applied sport psychology implications in supporting holistic athletic career development on different levels (incl. organizational, significant others around athletes, personal level).
- can describe different developmental stages and characterize them;
- understand personal and environmental factors that play a role in supporting or hindering athletic career;
- can analyze possible challenges regarding developing holistic athletic career based on case study examples;
