Course aims
To provide an overview of options for youth leadership and initiative and to introduce different forms of inclusion. To form the skills for including, instructing, motivating and supporting young people.
Brief description of the course
Youth and diversity. Young people's activeness. Treatments of youth participation and forms of participation. Different target groups. Inclusion, instruction, motivation and support of young people. Social relationship and interaction. The group and the group process.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- understands the principles of inclusion and the importance of youth participation in youth work;
- is familiar with and can use different forms of inclusion;
- knows how to approach target groups in youth work and how to choose appropriate forms of inclusion;
- is familiar with the principles of leading a youth group and is able to instruct it.
