Course aims
To support the student's development in acquiring the content and forms of non-formal learning.
To consolidate knowledge and to shape skills regarding the factors shaping the study environment and taking them into consideration in learning environment.
To form skills for adapting current methods and environments and for creating new ones.
To provide an overview and to introduce learning environments that are innovative and in accordance with target group's needs.
Brief description of the course
Learning and learning approaches. The concept and starting points of non-formal learning. Lifelong learning. The basics of didactics. Experiential learning and active learning. Method analysis and performance assessment. Aspects that shape the learning environment. Creating interest and safety. Contemporary learning environments: for example, in a virtual environment, a school, the community, a jail, on the street, etc. The basics of creating and managing an environment.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- understands the nature of and different approaches to learning, incl. non-formal learning and lifelong learning;
- knows and is familiar with different learning environments and work formats during a person's life span;
- is able to choose and use different methods according to the situation;
- is able to create work forms and environments suitable for working with different target groups.
