Course aims
The objective of the internship is to get to know the everyday work of the local government and the main principles for organising youth work at the local level, participate in the everyday work of the local government and analyse your readiness to work as a youth work organiser in a local government in the light of the requirements of the youth worker's occupational qualification standards level 7.
Brief description of the course
Students get to know the everyday life of the local government in the course of the internship. In addition, students will gain an understanding of the main principles of the functioning of the public service and analyse their readiness to work as a youth work organiser in a local government. Students will get to know the principles of organising youth work and the most important activities at the local government level and take part in fulfilling feasible tasks in the course of the internship.
Independent work includes going through all of the documents that are important from the perspective of the internship, compiling a portfolio of the internship and presenting it during the final seminar.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- knows the legislation that influences the organisation of youth work at the local government level and the obligations and opportunities deriving therefrom,
- orients within the structure and modes of action at the local government level,
- knows the main principles of the functioning of the public service,
- knows the requirements of the youth worker's occupational qualification standards level 7 and can analyse the level of his or her competence from the perspective of the organisation of youth work at the local government level,
- can describe the tasks of a local government youth worker.
