To give an overview of the main concepts, theories and typologies of sociology of deviant behavior.
Brief description of the course
Introduction to sociology of deviant behavior. The different conceptions of deviant behavior. Strain theories. Learning theories. Control theories. Alcoholism. Illegal drug abuse. Suicide. Social differentiation of suicide. Stealing and robbery. Subculture of thefts. Rape. Typology of rapists. Homicide. Social differentiation of homicide. Homicide in Estonia.
