Course aims
Support the students in acquiring knowledge and skills necessary for making decisions about career choices and development.
Brief description of the course
Different career counseling paradigms and career theories. Individual career planning process and important components of making career decisions. Career counseling centers in Estonia. The specifics of career counseling in primary school, secondary school and university. Counceling of unemployers and different career cervises for them. Counceling serivices by private companies. Description of personal selection process.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- knows the main position of career theories, understands the differences and similarities between them;
- is able to implement the main positions of career theories in making ones own career choices;
- knows the main career counseling services in Estonia, their specialition for different clients.
