Course aims
Major. To cover the borders between geography and geophysics. To provide an overview of the changes in the main climatic elements in Estonia and their effect on bioproduction.D40
Brief description of the course
Location of Estonia in world climate regions. Climate forming factors and the development of hierarchical climatic systems. Time-space distribution of key climatic elements, general and applied regionalisations of climate. Local and micro-climates. Climate and the productivity of the plant cover, agroclimate. Agroclimatic characteristics, their significance in the ecology. Agroclimatic regions. Methods of agroclimatic prognoses in Estonia. History of the research into the Estonian climate, sources of data, systems of reference materials.
