Course aims
Swedish is for those students whose previous language proficiency corresponds to the B 2.1. level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Acquiring independent language command that enables coping in the environment of the language. Acquiring language proficiency that in the main part corresponds to the B2 (advanced) level of the European Council´s language proficiency system.
Brief description of the course
Integrated developing of all four part-skills of a foreign language (listening, reading, speaking, writing) following the content of B2 level of the European Council´s common framework for languages. Topics: Science and technology. Media and communication. Culture. Politics. Entertainment industry. Social problems. Special educational terminology of school environment.

Independent work includes: completing practical oral and written exercises; preparation for conversations and opinions; expressing personal experiences orally and in writing; doing practical translation exercises; writing essays; oral and written reviews of specialised texts; compiling a written report on one subject related to the study field and presenting it orally to fellow students.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
Student
- understands longer speech, reports and news;
- understands articles on actual issues;
- is able to express his/her viewpoints and justify in writing and orally;
- is able to write an essay, review and different types of writings;
- can compile and make a presentation related to his/her study field.
