Course aims
To form skills in family management, the components of family budgeting and compiling a family budget. The competence to act as a rational consumer, acquiring knowledge about consumer rights and obligations.
Brief description of the course
Family structure in Estonia. Household incomes and expenses. Statistical
Everyday expenses of families: electricity, water, telephone, etc. Balancing incomes and expenses. Bank loans, leasing, instalment finance and credit cards. Rational consumption, consumer rights and obligations in Estonia. Commercial and its influence. Waste management at home. Methodical solutions for teaching family budgeting and the balancing of incomes and expenses.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- knows basics of contemporary household;
- can analyze family incomes and expenses;
- can specify different aspects of consuming;
- can evaluate the influence of consuming to environment.
