Course aims
To give a theoretical-practical overview of formation and basic principes of dance/movement therapy.
Brief description of the course
Therapeutic potential of dance and movement. Historical formation of DMT. Background theories and different approaches in DMT. Levels of intervention in DMT.
Therapeutic movement relationship, mirroring, kinesthetic empathy. Authentic movement.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- Has a theoretical and practical overview of the formation and basic principes of DMT;
- has an overview of different theoretical approaches in DMT;
- is able to define DMT in the context of ohter therapies and close fields;
- ability to form a contact with client through movement and body awareness and communicate with client nonverbally and verbally.
