Course aims
The objective is to shape psychotherapeutic thinking and introduce the methods of applying narrative theatre, psychodrama and drama in the work with young people. The emphasis is on practical work and personal experience.
Brief description of the course
The opportunities of the three action methods: narrative theatre, psychodrama and drama therapy in the work with young people.The selection of topics and specific ways of dealing with them in the work with different age groups:Free improvisation and improvisation based on one’s own story.Supporting maturation through those methods.Dealing with bullying at school through drama and theatrical forms.Archetypical roles as facilitators of boys’ and girls’ development.How creative am I – a young person?The meaning of life and playing with it – to be or not to be?How to react to a bully among us?Friendship, Betrayal and Love – my story.Drugs and my world.Spontaneity and creativity – an opportunity to be a human being and develop. Psychodrama and sociodrama.Time: Space; Reality; Eternity. Four dimensions and four tools.Psychotherapy with young people. Types of theatre in the 21st century.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
Experience of being a group member, experience of helping roles. Experience of the role of a director. Ability to direct therapeutic vignettes.
