Course aims
To introduce simple repertoire for recorder ensemble, to support ensemble playing and to give some overview about principles of playing in recorder ensemble.
Brief description of the course
Ensemble playing and practicing. Using recorders in different sizes (from descant till bass). Playing simple recorder ensemble music (for example renaissance dances by T. Susato, E. Wiedmann, M. Praetorius etc., the easiest polyphonic music by O. di Lasso, G. Gastoldi etc., arrangements of music in different styles for recorder ensemble, easy contemporary ensemble music etc).
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
The student is acquainted with simple music for recorder ensemble and knows how to use it;
Is able to choose right recorder types for different parts;
Is able to make simple arrangements for recorder ensemble;
Has played through some amount of ensemble music in different styles for recorders; Is able to play F- and C-recorders.
