Course aims

Help to shape up skills of a music teacher, able to independently and creatively choose repertoire, suitable to age and capability and deliver it attractively to students. Introduce alternative jazz/pop style program layout principles and possibilities.

Brief description of the course

Overview of classical and jazz/pop harmony and the difference between them based on primary school/gymnasium song-book examples; sign system of jazz/pop- music, rhythmic, typical vocabulary and blues as foundation to the contemporary jazz-pop and rock music; introduction to the alternative program design basic principles and elementary playing skills.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
Understanding of basic principles of free jazz/pop programming and practice;
Knowledge of most typical keyboard usage in free jazz/pop programming.
