Course aims
To thoroughly prepare future music teachers and educators;
To provide an overview of the piano repertoire and practical work as a concertmaster via different ensembles and collectives;
To teach the ability to be creative and independent in working as a music teacher;
To choose a repertoire that takes into consideration age and ability, and present it attractively to the pupils;
To introduce the student to the primary methods of children`s songs accompaniments.
Brief description of the course
Work with Renaissance and Baroque music. Musical works of various countries and schools. J.S. Bachs Book of Compositions for Anna Magdalena, small preludes, inventions, preludes and fugues, toccatas, suites, and concerts. Viennese classics. New forms - sonata-allegro, variations, etc. Scales with sharps, reading music. Accompaniments to songs in primary school (classes 1 - 3) songbooks.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- masters freely the repertoire;
- knows styles and forms according to the academic programme;
- has virtuosity in mastering a pair of scales in maximum pace;
- has skills to design accompaniments to children`s songs.
