Course aims
To provide understanding and skills, required in dancer training, in-order to improve quality in movement and prevent injuries. Support in learning theoretical knowledge, modern practical skills and application of methods, that are required for a dancer physically and mentally while training.
Brief description of the course
The course is comprised of theoretical and practical parts, where learnt anatomical knowledge is applied directly into movement exercises. The curriculum is comprised of practical training classes during which we create the premises for learning theoretical and practical understanding into:Contemporary functional training (body conditioning) techniques (Pilates, GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®), structure and function of a human body. universal principles of body alignment. evaluating static and dynamic posture, upper and lower crossed syndrome, perspective of correct and incorrect body usage. Process based work requires participation in contact classes: prerequisite for the exam is 85% of participation in classes.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- comprehends principles of functional training and basic knowledge about universal principles of body alignment, in order to apply learnt skills to other movement discourses;
- knows how to choose exercises, to get his/her body back into a functional state;
- has gained basic understanding into anatomy;
- knows how to independently analyze and plan their own training.
