Course aims

To teach the various forms of expression used in contemporary art through practical experience.

Brief description of the course

The concept of contemporary art. The origin of conceptual art and its impact today. Introduction to various forms and examples of conceptual art.Generating ideas on given topics and looking for suitable artistic forms. Presentation of ideas. Discussions and criticism.Exhibiting finished works. Independent work: Visits to exhibitions, practical assignments, reading relevant materials on the internetThe process-based study presumes attendance in class work.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
To know the practices of contemporary art; to be able to analyse contemporary art and have personal views; to gain experience in creating a work of art based on an idea.
