Course aims
The subject's objective is to create opportunities for students to understand the necessity of lifelong learning and to lay the foundations for willingness to develop in the speciality; to support the development of the student's skills to plan and carry out research and development in their field of specialisation.
Brief description of the course
Within the framework of the course the student shall independently improve their speciality-specific theoretical knowledge and draw up a professional development project (development research) with the aim of developing speciality-specific vocational training. The student shall explore and analyse the current situation in the field of the vocation and specialisation (speciality-specific regulations and innovations in speciality-specific technology and in the work process) and future developments in the field. The student shall create speciality-specific vocational training development-related/promotion-related materials and/or make specific well-grounded proposals for the development of the speciality in vocational training. The compilation of the development project shall be supervised by a university lecturer and reviewed by an expert from the field of specialisation. The student presents and defends the development project in an exam.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
The student:
- analyses developments in the field of specialisation by presenting technological changes and changes in work processes;
- analyses the situation in the speciality, highlighting development needs and opportunities in vocational education;
- draws up a development plan for the speciality in accordance with general innovations in the specialisation field and the needs of vocational training.
