Course aims
The objective of the course is to create opportunities to link pedagogical knowledge with school realities; to support the development of skills for the planning and conducting of student- and outcome-centred vocational training, and developing preparedness to reflect on own pedagogical activities and to plan professional self-development.
Brief description of the course
Professional Pedagogical Practice I is performed in a vocational education centre or in an institution conducting vocational education training abroad. Organisation and practices of the vocational education centre, cooperation with the supervisor. Planning and conducting the educational training process. Curriculum, implementation schedule of the module and learning outcomes of the subjects. Creating an environment that motivates the learning process of the student and supports their development. Teaching and assessment methods that support the development of the student. Impact of the personal example of the vocational teacher on the formation of students' attitudes and values, teaching ethics. Feedback from students and supervisors, self-reflection. Individual task.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- plans, in cooperation with the supervisor, a student-centred learning process that is based on the theoretical aspects of professional pedagogy;
- implements teaching methods that support the development of the student while conducting the education process, designing a teaching environment that motivates learning and supports the development of students;
- takes into account the impact of their own personal example on the development of students' attitudes and value formation, guided by teaching ethics, school practices and good communication practices;
- reflects on their own pedagogical activities and plans their own professional development as a teacher on the basis of self-assessment and feedback.
