Course aims
To create opportunities for orientation in the field of adult education and support the development of readiness for understanding and analysing lifelong learning context.
Brief description of the course
Contextual framework of adult education development in the context of lifelong learning. Philosophical and political aspects of lifelong learning. Social, economic, political and education policy aspects of adult education. Adult education regulation mechanisms in Europe. Global adult education and lifelong learning policy (EU, OECD, UNESCO, Worldbank). Adult education and lifelong learning trends and key figures (PIAAC). Adult education current situation, problems and directions of development.
Course will be combined with e-learning and probleem-based learning sessioon.
Independent work
Reflective essey (based on reading memos); group work following PBL principles.
Learning outcomes in the course
- understands and analysis adult education and lifelong learning theories;
- Analysis critically adult education developments in the context of lifelong learning;
- analysis adult education trends and understands the opportunities and the variety of adult education field;
- understands and analysis adult education political, social, economic aspects in the context of lifelong learning;
- understands the concept of lifelong learning and analysis various theoretical concepts.
