Course aims

Create opportunities and support for the elucidation of theoretical viewpoints and practical educational situations and to develop readiness for working in the field of educating and teaching adults.

Brief description of the course

Socialization, experience and agency behaviour. Development of self-regulation and self- handling of an adult as a learner. Self-efficiency and adult development. Self-directed learning and supporting it. Learning contexts. Learning in formal, non-formal and informal situations. Learning motivation and learning needs of an adult learner.

Content of independent work: planning and conducting an interview, compiling a mini-survey, describing and analyzing an educational situation

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
Student
- understands the peculiarities of the adult learner development and learning;
- analyzes learning in different situations and understands the contexts of learning in adulthood;
- is able to assess a learning process and oneself as a learner;
- analyzes and evaluates the learning needs of target groups in his/her field of activity.
