Course aims
Core subject, its objective is to discuss special features and varieties of learning processes in adulthood to show the importance of oneself and cooperation in the context of success, to focus on resources in adult learning.
Brief description of the course
Essence of learning in adulthood, application of different learning theories in adulthood. Modern definitions of adult learning processes. Different learners and the effectiveness of different learning styles. Functional communication in a learning process. Skill to use learners inner potential: adaptation, specification of interests, feedback. Relating the study process to previous experience. An adult learner as a manager of his/her own study process. Teachers-adult educators role in leading and supporting adult education. Opportunities to make learning more efficient. Evaluation, reflection in the study process. Development of an adult learner into a subject of self-development.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- is able to differentiate between different contexts and situations of adult learning;
- understands the specific features and possibilities of adult learning in different contexts and situations;
- is able to plan, conduct and evaluate a phenomenological research about the experience of adult learning.
