Course aims
1) Create conditions for getting to know the basic facts of intercultural education and pedagogy in both theory and practice,
2) Get to know creativity as a phenomenon, different theories about creativity and opportunities for creative activities in the intercultural reality of education,
3) Create opportunities for developing the skills to act creatively in the intercultural reality of education,
4) Get to know the education systems of different countries and cultures and their different solutions for intercultural education.

Brief description of the course
Thinking about difference. Interculturality and multiculturality. Objectives and role of intercultural education in global society. Human rights in the modern world. Different theories about creativity and their interpretations. Opportunities for creative activities and approaches in the intercultural reality of education. Educational systems in different countries and cultures around the world and their different solutions for intercultural education. Coping in an intercultural educational environment _ threats and risks; methods and creative practices. The problem of how to recognise cultural differences in the way humans think and act. Cultural differences caused by different prevailing ideologies in societies. East and West as cultural regions and different cultural practices as they are expressed in the educational sphere.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- knows culturally different education systems and their different solutions for intercultural education;
- understands the meanings and content of the phenomenon of interculturality in a person's life and potential creative strategies to function in the intercultural reality of education;
- respects human rights and understands their importance in the context of intercultural education;
- knows the most important theories of creativity and can implement this knowledge practically in the intercultural reality of education.
