Course aims
Learning to know the needs and possibilities of customising the study conditions based on the principle of approximating special education and regular schooling. Enable students to familiarise themselves with the official principles of prescribing individual curricula: legislation, examining card, decision-making stage. Students acquire the skill of assessing the expediency of individual curriculum and the productivity of its application.
Brief description of the course
Getting information about the experiences of exploiting individual education plans in Estonia, analysis of observation cards, compiling examples of individual education plans in various subjects and age groups; getting information about the observation of the expediency of the individual education plan and cooperation with individuals having contact with the pupil; compiling the analysis of learning climate.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
Students have an overview of the possibilities of customising intervention and the study environment; are able to determine the requirements for educational special needs, the type of individual curriculum; know the general principles of compiling and applying individual curricula in different contexts; institutional peculiarities; know the different forms of open learning; principles of process-centred diagnostics.
