Course aims
Developing readiness for pedagogical activities, proceeding from the peculiarities in the formation of the components of mental and physical development in the process of developing into a personality; developing readiness to notice the peculiaritis of cognitive development and to create learning conditions promoting development.
Brief description of the course
Bases of cognitive psychology – abilities, measuring abilities, drawing conclusions. Processing information as the process of memory; understanding the “normality” of forgetfulness. Measuring, testing and making conclusions of cognitive differences in classroom; measuring the adaptation of special skills, interests and personality.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- has skill to analyse with constructive criticism the possibilities and limitations of the cognitive developmental psychology in supporting the development of personality;
- has skill to name concrete means and ways of measurement that treat cognitive differences;
- has ability to participate in discussions with convincing argumentation.
