Course aims
Students acquire knowledge about the concept and essence of the structure of social skills; they acquire knowledge and practical skills about human development, socialising, communication and relations, skills for successful communication and behaviour on different levels; students get an overview of the society’s expectations on the social competence of the young, of the consequences of not acquiring social skills; they acquire theoretical and practical skills to study social deprivation
Brief description of the course
The concept and essence of social competence and school part of it. The problematical behavior and emotional/ behavioral difficulties of children and youth from the school reality viewpoint. Social skills and learning. The supporting of positive self- concept. Academic and non- academic self- concept. Socio-emotional development. Emphaty. Autism (incl. Asperger syndrome), hyperactivity, bullying.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- has knowledge about the concept and essence of the structure of social skills;
- has knowledge and practical skills about human development, socialising, communication and relations, skills for successful communication and behaviour on different levels;
- has get an overview of the society’s expectations on the social competence of the young, of the consequences of not acquiring social skills;
- has acquire theoretical and practical skills to study social deprivation.
