Course aims

To support the acquisition of knowledge of the most important global trends and directions in research in the field; to create opportunities for consulting leading scientists in the field and to support the development of the necessary competences for research and creating contacts for cooperation.

Brief description of the course

Special seminars conducted by internationally recognised foreign and/or local specialists are aimed at sharing the latest knowledge in the field and supporting the preparation of the thesis. Different forms of learning are used according to the topic, objective and presenter of the seminar: lectures, seminars, presentations by students, discussions of scientific publications, reviewing, giving feedback etc.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- has an overview of global trends in educational sciences and the latest directions in research and is able to discuss relevant topics;
- knows how to critically analyse and assess the research published in the field and has knowledge of the latest scientific literature on the thesis topic;
-knows how to use the knowledge they have acquired for writing the thesis and linking the field of research to the wider international context and other directions in research.
