The course aims at introducing educational technology in the learning process enabling learners to plan digital learning competences for students, understand the principles for innovative learning with technology, develop and evaluate innovative learning materials and learning activities (e.g. trialogical learning design, quest-based learning; role-plays for learning; informal learning outdoors).
Brief description of the course
The course is based on hands on practical work sessions where learners can develop and test out digital innovative learning designs as a groupwork. The participants learn theoretical principles how to use learning theories for developing digital competences and different types of knowledge. The learners are expected to bring own personal and smart devices if accessible.
The students must do independent work to finish the learning designs.
Learning outcomes in the course
Plans in digital learning activities the development of students’ digital competences.
Applies learning principles in innovative learning designs with digital technologies.
Develops with digital technology innovative learning materials and learning activities for different purposes.
Evaluates the learning activities based on their innovativeness and digital competence development.
Student designs, tries out and evaluates three digitally enhanced learning activities. The grading considers the pedagogical components of the developed learning designs (application of the learning theory principles, developing the digital competences, innovativeness of the learning design) and technical usability of the learning designs.
